Quick Start Guide

Get up and running with RTC Collector in just 5 minutes.

What You'll Need​

  • A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)
  • An email address for account creation
  • (Optional) A passkey-compatible device for WebAuthn authentication

Step 1: Create Your Account​

  1. Navigate to rtccollector.com or download the app from the Google Play Store
  2. Click "Register" in the top navigation
  3. Choose your sign-up method:
    • Email & Password: Enter your email, choose a password (minimum 8 characters), and confirm it
    • Continue with Google: Sign in with your Google account for one-tap registration
  4. Click "Create Account"
  5. Check your email for the 6-digit verification code
  6. Enter the code to activate your account

Step 2: Set Up Your Username​

  1. After email verification, you'll be prompted to choose a username
  2. Your username will be visible to other users when you share collections
  3. Choose a unique username (letters, numbers, and underscores only)
  4. Click "Save Username"
Username Changes

You can change your username later, but there's a 30-day cooldown between changes to prevent abuse.

Step 3: Add Your First Item​

  1. Tap the + button in the bottom navigation (or click Add Item on desktop)
  2. Select the category for your item:
    • Computer
    • Console
    • Handheld
    • Game
    • Accessory
    • Other
  3. Or tap Scan Barcode to Add Item to scan a UPC/EAN barcode and auto-fill details
  4. Fill in the basic details (name, condition, etc.)
  5. (Optional) Upload photos of your item
  6. Click "Save Item"

Step 4: Explore Features​

Now that you have your first item added, you can:

  • Browse the Library: Explore platforms, games, and interactive history timelines
  • View Analytics: See insights about your collection with live market prices
  • Browse Marketplace: Look for items to buy or trade
  • Social Feed: Follow other collectors and share posts from your collection
  • Add Friends: Connect with other collectors
  • Customize Settings: Set your notification preferences and theme
