Bulk Listing

Bulk listing lets you create multiple marketplace listings at once from your collection. Instead of listing items one by one, you select multiple items, apply common settings, customize each one, and publish them all together.

This feature is available for Enthusiast tier subscribers only.

Overview​

The bulk listing workflow has 4 steps:

  1. Select Items - Choose items from your collection
  2. Apply Template - Set common values for all items (optional)
  3. Customize - Edit individual item details
  4. Review & Publish - Review and publish all listings

Step 1: Select Items​

Starting Bulk Listing​

  1. Go to Marketplace → Create Listing
  2. Click Bulk Listing
  3. You'll see all items in your collection that aren't already listed

Selecting Items​

Individual Selection:

  • Click any item card to select or deselect it
  • Selected items show a checkmark and blue border

Bulk Selection:

  • Click Select All to select all visible items
  • Click Deselect All to clear selection

Filtering Items​

Search:

  • Type in the search box to filter by item name or title
  • Clear search with the X button

Category Filter:

  • Use the dropdown to show only items in a specific category
  • Select "All Categories" to clear the filter

Mobile Features​

Pull to Refresh:

  • Pull down on mobile to refresh your collection

Preview Panel:

  • Selected items appear in a sidebar on desktop
  • On mobile, tap "Selected (X)" to see your selection
  • Remove items from selection by clicking the X next to each item

Requirements​

  • You need at least 1 item in your collection
  • Items already listed on the marketplace don't appear
  • You must select at least 1 item to continue

Step 2: Apply Template (Optional)​

Templates let you set common values that apply to all selected items. This saves time when your items share similar settings.

Quick Start Presets​

Choose a preset to populate the template instantly:

Quick Sale:

  • Listing type: Sale
  • Shipping: Standard, 3-day handling
  • No international shipping
  • Returns: 14 days, buyer pays return shipping

Trade Preferred:

  • Listing type: Both (sale and trade)
  • Shipping: Standard, 5-day handling
  • No international shipping
  • Returns: 7 days, buyer pays return shipping

Premium Listing:

  • Listing type: Sale
  • Condition: Mint
  • Shipping: Expedited, 1-day handling
  • International shipping enabled
  • Returns: 30 days, seller pays return shipping

Template Fields​

Listing Type​

Choose how you want to sell:

  • Sale - Accept cash offers only
  • Trade - Accept trade offers only
  • Both - Accept cash or trade offers

Condition​

Set a default condition for all items:

  • Mint
  • Excellent
  • Very Good
  • Good
  • Fair
  • Poor

Leave blank to use each item's existing condition from your collection.

Shipping Settings​

Shipping Method:

  • Standard Shipping
  • Expedited Shipping
  • Overnight Shipping
  • Local Pickup Only

Shipping Cost:

  • Set a default shipping cost in dollars
  • Leave blank to set per-item costs later
  • Not shown for Local Pickup

Handling Days:

  • Number of days before you ship (1-30)
  • How long buyers wait for you to prepare the item

International Shipping:

  • Check to offer shipping outside your country
  • Increases potential buyers but may increase costs

Provide Tracking:

  • Check if you'll provide tracking numbers
  • Buyers prefer tracking for expensive items

Return Policy​

Return Period:

  • No Returns
  • 7 Days
  • 14 Days
  • 30 Days
  • 60 Days

Return Shipping Paid By:

  • Buyer Pays - Buyer covers return shipping
  • Seller Pays - You cover return shipping

Restocking Fee:

  • Percentage fee (0-100%) charged on returns
  • Compensates for re-listing work
  • Most sellers use 0-20%

Description Template​

Write a template description that applies to all items. Use {itemName} as a placeholder for each item's name.

Example:

Selling my {itemName} from my personal collection. Item is in great condition and has been carefully stored. Serious buyers only.

This becomes:

  • "Selling my Nintendo Game Boy from my personal collection..."
  • "Selling my Sega Genesis from my personal collection..."

Common Tags​

Add tags that apply to all items:

  • Type a tag and press Enter or click Add
  • Tags help buyers find your listings
  • Examples: "vintage", "rare", "collector", "complete-in-box"

Default Quantity​

Usually 1. Increase if you're selling multiple identical items.

Skipping the Template​

Click Skip Template if you want to set everything per-item. You'll start with empty fields in the next step.

Step 3: Customize Individual Items​

After applying the template (or skipping it), customize each item individually.

Desktop View​

Items appear in a table. Click the arrow button or "Edit" to expand each item's details.

Bulk Actions:

  • Expand All - Open all item details at once
  • Collapse All - Close all item details

Mobile View​

Items appear as cards. Tap Edit Details to expand the item's fields.

Required Fields​

Every item needs:

Title (minimum 5 characters)

  • The listing title buyers see
  • Pre-filled from your collection item name
  • Make it descriptive and searchable

Description (minimum 20 characters)

  • Detailed item description
  • If you used a template, it's already filled in
  • Explain condition, what's included, any issues

Condition

  • Select from Mint to Poor
  • Matches your collection item condition unless changed by template

Price (for Sale and Both listing types)

  • Set the asking price in dollars
  • Not required for Trade-only listings
  • Use Price Suggestions for help (see below)

Photos (at least 1)

  • Uses photos from your collection item
  • Shows which photo is primary (buyers see first)
  • You can't add photos here - add them to your collection item first

Shipping Method

  • Standard, Expedited, Overnight, or Local Pickup
  • Pre-filled from template if you used one

Shipping Cost (except Local Pickup)

  • Cost in dollars
  • Can fetch real rates using package dimensions (see below)

Handling Days (except Local Pickup)

  • Days before you ship (1-30)

Optional Fields​

Package Dimensions: Enter weight and dimensions to fetch real shipping rates:

  • Weight (kg)
  • Length (cm)
  • Width (cm)
  • Height (cm)

When all 4 fields are filled, click Get Real Shipping Rates to fetch actual carrier rates from Shippo. You'll see rates from multiple carriers with delivery times. Click a rate to use that cost.

International Shipping: Toggle on to offer international shipping. Off by default.

Provide Tracking: Check if you'll provide a tracking number after shipping.

Tags: Shows tags applied from the template. You can't edit tags per-item.

Price Suggestions​

Click Price Suggestions next to the price field to see AI-powered pricing help. The system analyzes similar items and market conditions to suggest a fair price.

Use suggestions as a guide, not a rule. You know your item's condition and rarity best.

Item Status​

Each item shows a status badge:

  • Complete (green) - All required fields filled correctly
  • XX% (yellow) - Partially complete, shows percentage
  • Invalid (red) - Has validation errors

You can't publish until all items show "Complete".

Progress Tracking​

The page shows overall progress:

  • Percentage complete (0-100%)
  • Number of items completed
  • Number remaining

Removing Items​

Click the trash icon to remove an item from the bulk listing. The item stays in your collection but won't be published.

Auto-Save​

Your work saves automatically to your browser every 30 seconds. If you close the page and come back within 7 days, your session restores.

The page shows "Last saved: X seconds ago" so you know your work is safe.

Step 4: Review & Publish​

When all items are complete, click Continue to Review.

Review Modal​

The publish modal shows:

  • Total number of listings to create
  • List of all items with their names
  • Summary of what will happen

Publishing Process​

Click Publish All Listings to start.

What happens:

  1. Modal shows a progress bar
  2. Items publish one at a time
  3. Each item shows status: Pending → Publishing → Success or Error
  4. Progress updates in real-time
  5. When done, you see the final results

Important: Don't close the window while publishing. You'll see a warning to keep the page open.

Publishing Results​

After publishing completes:

Success Count:

  • Number of listings created successfully
  • Shows listing IDs
  • Click "View" next to any item to see its listing

Error Count (if any):

  • Number of failed listings
  • Shows error messages per item
  • Common errors: missing required fields, network issues, server errors

Actions:

  • Retry Failed - Try publishing failed items again
  • View My Listings - Go to your marketplace listings page
  • Close - Close modal and clear the bulk listing session

After Publishing​

Published listings appear in your marketplace listings page. Buyers can find them through search and browse.

Next steps:

  • Check your listings to make sure they look right
  • Respond to offers when they come in
  • Ship items when sales complete

Session Management​

Auto-Save​

The bulk listing workflow auto-saves to your browser's local storage:

  • Saves every 30 seconds while you work
  • Saves when you move between steps
  • Shows "Last saved: X seconds ago"

Session Recovery​

If you close the browser or navigate away:

  • Your session persists for 7 days
  • Return to the bulk listing page to restore your work
  • After 7 days, the session expires and clears

Clearing Session​

Sessions clear automatically when:

  • You complete publishing
  • 7 days pass since last save
  • You clear browser data

You can't manually clear a session - just close the page and ignore it if you want to start over.

Tips for Bulk Listing​

Preparation​

Before starting bulk listing:

  1. Add items to your collection first
  2. Upload photos to each collection item
  3. Set accurate conditions in your collection
  4. Have package dimensions ready if you want real shipping rates

Using Templates Effectively​

Templates work best when:

  • Items are similar (same category, similar condition)
  • You want consistent shipping policies
  • You're listing many items at once

Skip templates when:

  • Items vary widely in condition
  • Each item needs unique shipping costs
  • Items are in different categories with different needs

Pricing Strategy​

For collections of similar items:

  • Price consistently across the batch
  • Offer slight discounts for bundle purchases (message buyers)
  • Research completed sales, not just active listings

For mixed items:

  • Use price suggestions as a starting point
  • Account for rarity and condition differences
  • Consider offering "or best offer" in descriptions

Shipping Costs​

Using real rates:

  • Measure and weigh items before starting
  • Use consistent packaging (same box size for similar items)
  • Real rates are more accurate but take more time

Using flat rates:

  • Faster to set up
  • Estimate on the high side to avoid losses
  • Easier for buyers to understand

Description Writing​

Good template descriptions:

  • Mention your reputation as a collector
  • Explain your shipping and packaging process
  • Set expectations for condition and what's included

Avoid:

  • Copy-pasting generic descriptions
  • Making claims you can't verify
  • Overpromising on condition

Common Issues​

"No items available"​

Cause: You don't have collection items that aren't already listed.

Fix:

  • Add items to your collection first
  • Or delist existing marketplace items to re-list them

"Template didn't apply to some items"​

Cause: Some fields can't be templated (like item-specific photos).

Fix: This is normal. Template applies common fields only. Customize the rest per-item.

"Can't continue to review"​

Cause: Some items aren't complete.

Fix:

  1. Check the progress indicator
  2. Look for yellow or red status badges
  3. Expand incomplete items and fill required fields

"Publishing failed for some items"​

Causes:

  • Network connection issues
  • Server temporarily unavailable
  • Item was deleted from collection during publishing

Fix:

  1. Check error messages for each failed item
  2. Click Retry Failed to try again
  3. If errors persist, try publishing those items individually

"Session expired"​

Cause: More than 7 days passed since you last worked on the bulk listing.

Fix: Start a new bulk listing. Your collection items are still safe.

"Price suggestions not loading"​

Cause: AI service temporarily unavailable or no market data for this item.

Fix: Set the price manually based on your research.

"Real shipping rates not available"​

Causes:

  • Missing package dimensions
  • Invalid dimensions (too large or too small)
  • Shippo API temporarily unavailable

Fix:

  • Check all 4 dimension fields are filled
  • Verify dimensions are reasonable
  • Enter shipping cost manually if rates don't load

Bulk Listing vs Individual Listing​

Use bulk listing when:

  • Listing 5+ items at once
  • Items share common characteristics
  • You want to save time
  • You have Enthusiast tier subscription

Use individual listing when:

  • Listing 1-2 items
  • Each item needs detailed attention
  • You're new to the marketplace
  • Item is rare or high-value requiring careful description

Tier Requirement​

Bulk listing requires Enthusiast tier subscription (£15/month or £150/year).

Enthusiast tier includes:

  • Unlimited marketplace listings
  • Bulk operations (including bulk listing)
  • Reduced marketplace fees (2.5% vs 5%)
  • Priority listings in search results
  • All other platform features

Hobbyist and Collector tiers cannot access bulk listing. Upgrade in Settings → Subscription to use this feature.

FAQ​

How many items can I bulk list at once?​

Enthusiast tier has unlimited listings. You can select as many items as you want from your collection. However, for practical purposes, 10-50 items per session works best. Larger batches take longer to customize and publish.

Can I edit listings after publishing?​

Yes. Go to Marketplace → My Listings and edit any listing individually. Bulk editing published listings isn't available.

What happens if I close the browser during publishing?​

Items that already published will stay published. Items that didn't publish yet will remain unpublished. You'll need to list them again individually or start a new bulk listing session.

Can I save a template for future use?​

No. Templates are per-session only. However, preset templates (Quick Sale, Trade Preferred, Premium Listing) are always available to speed up setup.

Do bulk listings get priority placement?​

Enthusiast tier gets priority listings regardless of how you create them. Bulk listings and individual listings have the same visibility and ranking.

Can I bulk list items from different categories?​

Yes. Select items from any category. However, template settings that don't make sense for certain categories (like gaming-specific fields) simply won't apply to non-gaming items.

What if I need to add photos during bulk listing?​

You can't add photos during bulk listing. Photos come from your collection items. If an item needs more photos, exit bulk listing, add photos to the collection item, then return to bulk listing.

Can I use bulk listing for trades only?​

Yes. Set the listing type to "Trade" in the template. You won't need to set prices for trade-only listings.

How long does publishing take?​

Each item takes about 2-3 seconds to publish. 10 items take about 30 seconds. 50 items take 2-3 minutes. The modal shows real-time progress.

Can I cancel publishing once started?​

No. Once you click "Publish All Listings", the process can't be stopped. Keep the window open until publishing completes. If absolutely necessary, you can close the window, but items already published will remain published.

What if my session expires while I'm working?​

Sessions don't expire while you're actively using the page. They expire after 7 days of inactivity. Your work auto-saves every 30 seconds, so you won't lose recent changes.

Can I edit the template after applying it?​

No. Once you apply a template and move to the customization step, you can't go back to edit the template. However, you can edit all fields individually per-item, which gives you the same control.

Do I pay marketplace fees for bulk listings?​

Yes. Marketplace fees apply to all listings regardless of how you create them. Hobbyist tier pays 7.5%, Collector tier pays 5%, and Enthusiast tier pays 2.5% on sales.

Can I bulk delist items?​

Bulk delisting isn't currently available. Delist items individually from Marketplace → My Listings.
